Cash for Vote scam: Supreme Court notice to Chandrababu.

Andhra Pradesh today celebrates historical maiden assembly session in the capital Amaravati, but trouble is brewing for Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The scandalous cash for vote case has surfaced again, with Supreme Court issuing notice to the TDP supremo. Earlier Chandrababu approached the High Court regarding the scam wherein the court held that there was no need for an investigation on Chandrababu. Challenging this decision, YSRCP MLA Ramakrishna moved to Supreme Court. The apex court acknowledged a plea for a thorough enquiry in the Cash for vote case. It admitted the case on the petitioner’s view that bribing the lawmakers for vote comes under the act of corruption. The Supreme Court issued a notice to Chandrababu to file a counter as soon as possible and said that a comprehensive investigation will be taken up. Advocate for the complainant Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy said that the court understood the seriousness of the matter and admitted the case. He also said that they have enough evidences and will submit them during the court trail. The alleged proof of Chandrababu’s involvement is around a phone conversation which he had with an MLA, whose vote the TDP was trying to buy. While the opponents of Chandrababu are rejoicing, the CM said that it is very common to get court notices and added that in the past 26 cases were filed on him. He further questioned “What is there in Cash for vote case?”
